Join Us for a Guided Walking Tour of Buttonhook Forest and the recently discovered Native American Ceremonial Site located in the woods in the Valley Ridge section of Chappaqua, NY.  Visit this pristine, untouched section of Chappaqua and come learn more about the effort underway to purchase this land for preservation. Come away with more knowledge about the Native American history of our area.

Private tours available for groups, girl scouts, boy scouts etc.

Suggested Donation - $10 per person or $25 for a family
Great family activity - ages 5 and up

  • Difficulty - moderate incline on walking trails
  • Closed toe shoes required
  • Bring a water bottle
  • In keeping with sustainability practices you must carry out anything you bring in
  • Sorry no pets

Signed liability release form required to participate.  Forms will be sent upon receipt of your registration with instructions on access to parking area off of Old Roaring Brook Road.  For additional information, contact [email protected].

This sensitive ecosystem was slated for residential development by the Chappaqua Central School District (CCSD) and was recently made available for sale by open bid after the development deal fell apart.  Friends of Buttonhook Forest in Partnership with Brothertown Indian Nation submitted a bid to the CCSD for purchase of  this land. Help us continue to raise the needed funds!
